Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls, Canada

Good morning 32!! I yelled as I crawled out of the super comfy king sized bed, I stretched and then walked over to the window, cranked the blinds open to make sure the amazing view of the falls was still there, and of course, it was in all its frigid watery glory.

Carrying on the tradition of many birthdays before, I spent the night in the falls with an amazing dinner,  plenty of drinks and then a stay in a 5-star suite complete with a hot tub, king size bed and view of the magnificent horseshoe falls.

After letting my short and curries bask in the sun from our 20th story window, it was shit shave and shower time,  then off to check out and find some breakfast. We had an insanely cheap Denny’s breakfast and overpriced Starbucks Coffee then started to head down to the falls.

In true birthday Opulence (LAZINESS) I decided we would take the Niagara Falls Incline ride down. What I thought would just be a shortcut down turned out to be an above average experience. Something about looking down at the massive waterfall as you’re gently being lowered down to eye level with it makes you truly appreciate the sheer size of it. Defiantly worth the $2.75 each for this amazing 30 seconds.

We made our way past the rows of wood carved guards we entered Into the money pit known as the Niagara Falls visitor center. Filled with overpriced Chinese made merch, and underpaid employees we made our way to the far side which has an exit right next to the falls. We snapped a couple selfies with the falls right behind us and a pic for a nice Russian couple, then darted back inside to warm up.

There’s no denying the beautiful and mystifying site of ice coated foliage looming in front of the frigid falling water mass that is the Horseshoe Falls. It was so cold my camera kept locking up and we had to keep dipping back inside the visitors center for warmth.  After a couple more quick photo shoots of the falls, dodging the massive amounts of Russian tourists and almost losing some fingers from frostbite we decided to pack it in.
